A fairy (also faery, faerie, fay, fae; wee folk, good folk, people of peace, fair folk, etc.) is a type of mythical being or legendary creature, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical or supernatural.Fairies resemble various beings of other mythologies, though even folklore that uses the term fairy offers many definitions. Sometimes the term describes any magical creature, including goblins or gnomes: at other times, the term only describes a specific type of more ethereal creature.
On any given day I could be described as any or all of those things.. (dont ring a bell I wont get my wings...and no I'm not giving you any money for your teeth ..you keep them. you need them!!) Generally I associate mostly with the gay affilliation. Hence this blog.
The Staten Island Ferry Not to be confused with Staten Island Ferry (cocktail) is a passenger ferry service operated by the NYC dept. of transportation that runs between Manhattan Island and Staten Island. Service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Staten Island Ferry is the most reliable form of mass transit, with an on-time performance of over 96 percent.
The Staten Island Ferry has been a municipal service since 1905 For most of the 20th century, the ferry was famed as the biggest bargain in New York City. It charged the same five cent fare as the NY subway but the ferry fare remained a nickel when the subway fare increased to 10 cents in 1948. On August 4, 1975, the nickel fare ended and the charge became 25 cents for a round trip, the quarter being collected in one direction only. The round trip increased to 50 cents in 1990, but then was eliminated altogether in 1997
Today the Staten Island Ferry annually carries over 19 million passengers on a 5.2-mile (8.4-km) run that takes approximately 25 minutes each way. Each day approximately five boats transport about 75,000 passengers during 104 boat trips. Over 33,000 trips are made annually, moving over 21 million passengers, my fat ass included!

Those who really know me know that the past year has been filled with a touch of the "downs". As luck would have it, I find myself living on Staten Island. Far away from the friends and life ive created for mysef here in NYC over the past 12 years. This experience has been a bit of a wake-up call for me and caused me to think a lot about my life and the lives of those I encounter everyday on this 25 minute daily journey to civiization know as Manhattan.
Those who know me even a little, know that I am rarely without an opinion on everything and anything. And so ive decided to create a blog to pass the time on the ferry.. writing about all that concerns me or makes me laugh..stuff i watched on tv. current events in the news and ofcourse just a place for me to be the fairy I am and bitch!! Somedays ill have a lot to say and ill need to blog both ways on the ferry. and other days my ass will be tired and youll get what you get!!
I believe in giving credit where credit is due.. so if you happen to be the subject of my rant.. PLEASE dont take it personally.. In fact take it as a compliment.. for me to take the time and give energy or attention to you.. know that I love you and/or my comments are coming from a place of positive change...OR you just suck and Ive decided to tell you so!!
My first credit goes to My friends... Justin, Josh and Eston.What can I say that you dont already know? You know that I miss you all dearly.. and life would be really lonely and shitty without you. Over the years youve given me your friendship, love and shared your many gifts with me. (in fact "the fairy on the ferry" title was given to me by my friend Josh) I will be eternally grateful. .. as said in one of my favorite "Designing Women" episodes... "...life with you has been one crazy ride... and I am a much better person having bought a ticket" thank you all for being my unlimited metrocard to life. MUAH!!
Ok enough with the mushy.. the ferry is pulling in... off to work I go.. yo ho, yo ho, yo ho ...... YOU HO's!
