Saint Patrick's Day

Why do we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? The primary reason for the celebration is to drink heavilly. (Not that most of us need a reason for that.) But the TRUE reason is to commemorate the feast day of Saint Patrick, a Christian missionary who later on became the patron saint of Ireland. It is held every 17th day of March, which is believed to be the date of his death. English-speaking countries, individuals of Irish ancestry and anyone who likes the color green are just few of the many groups that devotedly follow this special annual celebration.

.. As ive mentioned. I am SOOOOOOO excited to be going away for the New York City Gay Men's Chorus' annual retreat weekend tomorrow. And St Patrick's day has wrecked my mood.!! Because of this "special" holiday, 30% of Staten Island's bus drivers called out today so I had to wait for an hour and a half for my bus.. When it arrived, it was packed to the rafters with other pissed off commuters who had been waiting on their street corners. Then i had to deal with 3 people ALREADY vomiting on the ferry ( it was only 1pm!!!!) Once I got in to the city my train went express to 34th street. Letting me off in front of Penn station .. home of the drunken irish commuter... Calgon take me away!!!!!

Good morning Everybody

TV was soooooooo good last night. I got home late and was up all night (I'm usually up all night anyway because I'm an insomniac) but last night I was up because i wanted to be!! lets get started!  (spoiler alert!!!)

What the What!!! All hell broke loose with V last night it was the best episode of the series so far. Dumb ass Lisa fell prey to human emotion and believed that her mother wanted to help and not hurt humanity. And failed by not killing her. Ryan was killed by his daughter.. Chad Dekker was found out as a two-faced ho ( and will be disposed of) Anna went crazy, killed her mother, locked up Lisa and cloned her to mate with Tyler (as with all good hook-ups you kill him when you're done right? .....no?  just me? ....anyone? Bueller? ...........crickets) ANYWAY!! Anna discovered that she could use her "bliss" to mind control humans. and she blissed all mankind (except Erica and the secret society that lives under NYC that includes the FBI AND  Donovan from the original V series) Very nice turn of events... I was so excited I almost peed myself.. When is it returning? I have no Idea. No previews No Nothing.. Drives me nuts!!  SOoo good!!

GLEE made me giddy with glee last night. New Directions won regionals with all original songs.  Kurt found true love and had his first gay kiss ( 2 actually) with his Warbler co-star  (sigh) Rachel actually didn't drive me crazy last night.. I felt sorry for her and liked her song...

The team song was the best!! Kathy Griffin and Loretta Devine guest starred and had all of 2 mins of screen time and it was worth every second GENIUS!!..  YAY GLEE

Good Day Fairies!!

Only 1 week until I'm whisked away to Asbury Park, NJ for a fun filled retreat with the NYC Gay Men's Chorus (YAY!!) I'm Soooo excited for this annual pilgrimage of exhaustive debauchery. Where we prepare for the spring concert,  (Big Gay Sing 3-D March 25 & 26th @ 8pm) that I have been shamelessly promoting on this blog.

Before I get to the Amens for the week, I want to take the time to acknowledge the earthquake and resulting tsunami that rocked Japan last night. The total extent of the damage and loss of life is yet unknown.  We've endured hurricanes and earthquakes in this country in my lifetime.. But nothing of this magnitude. Such devastation is foreign to me and my personal experience. My thoughts are with the victims and the survivors of this tragedy.

Comedy Central has found ratings gold with their "Roast" series which until now has included such joke worthy recipients as Pamela Andersen and David Hasstlehoff. Last night this honor was given to the one and only Donald Trump. Amen to that!!! The roasters include all the regulars, Jeff Ross, Lisa Lampinelli and Whitney Cummings.  Larry King was also a big hit (who I hear takes a gay jab at his ex co-worker Anderson Cooper.. cant wait!!) Get your Aqua Net ready for your toupe'. This cornucopia of comedy will air on March 15th.

Women in a Swedish study who drank at least a cup of coffee every day had a 22 to 25% lower risk of stroke, compared to those who drank less coffee or none at all. So I guess as a gay man, I've got a 11 to 15% lower risk of stroking out. YAY for me and Amen for 3 or more cups of Joe a day!! Sorry straight guys.. I guess you wish you were a little more lady-like now don't you? HA! Enjoy your coffee (and your stroke!!)

St. Patrick’s Day is more than an excuse to drink and cheer the Irish. It’s just that it is so much fun to drink and cheer the Irish! So in an effort not to water down this sacred day, today's Fairy Friday Cocktail is in honor of Patrick pleasers. (Ive known 2 Patricks who were very good at pleasing me. Okkrrr!!) Cheers to them and all of the Irish. Enjoy the weekend!!

Paddy’s Cocktail

2 oz  Silver Tequila
1/2 oz Lemon juice
1/2 oz Simple syrup
2 inches of cucumber diced finely
A large pinch of cilantro

Make sure you have chilled Coupe or Martini glasses ready. Dice the cucumber and add to a boston shaker, then crush with a muddler. Add a large pinch of cilantro. Add the Herradura Silver, lemon juice and simple syrup. Fill with ice and shake hard. Strain into the chilled coupe/ martini glass. Garnish with a disc of cucumber and a cilantro leaf.

Exhaustion sets in....

I don't even know what to write today... The weather is crappy and the water is choppy. Its the kind of day that makes you just want to stay in bed.. Ive been under the weather for the past few days.. with a head cold.. I'm all stuffy and just want to go back to bed. but alas .. the show must go on...
Since I spent yesterday in bed .. today's report would be reflective of the amount of T.V. I watched in the past 48 hours.. so ill spare you all of the 2 T.V related posts in a row.. see you tomorrow for  amen fairy Fridays

What the what? Wednesday

Hello my loyal fairies. Welcome to What the what? Wednesday. This week's DVR smorgasbord includes RuPaul's Drag Race, Glee and Desperate Bros and Ho's (Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters) I've been under the weather for the past few days so needless to say ive gotten in a lot of T.V. viewing and not so much blogging...Here we go.. (spoiler alert)

Ding dong the bitch is dead.. Say good-bye to Delta Work. As a fellow big gurl, I wanted to like her sooo much, but she never brought it. I should have known when she walked out in that bikini printed t-shirt that she was done. As aways Shangela thought that her talent got her thru.. ( no dear you just weren't the worst one). I would have given the win to Yara Sophia. her little person costume/ comedy act was genius.Once again my girl Raja turned it with her bucket -o- blood "Carrie" costume.. (I need to make one of those) Manila.. you can leave my cake out in the rain anytime.. (amazing lip sync) Were getting closer and closer to the finish line of this race.. Who will win? They've already started their engines... I'm the best woman.. so who cares. lol

What the what??? Santana is a Lesbian... We knew she had bi tendencies but its official and they used Stevie Nicks' "Landslide" flush it out.. (even though the meaning of that song has been debated for centuries) To quote Antoine Dodson of "hide yo' kids, hide yo' wife" fame....  Britney.."you are so dumb, you really really dumb". "Three days ago a stork built its nest above my garage.. i'm not stupid it's obviously getting ready to bring me my baby" bless her heart.. As for the return of Holly Holiday (Gwyneth Paltrow) She's great. I couldn't imagine the role being played by anyone else. Sue likes her enema's Piping hot and "porcelain" needs to get with the program.. he's been playing the whole i'm gay story line but is a non-sexual unick. Not feeling that storyline.. after all "everyone's got a random" wrap it up kids.. wear a condom!!

Desperate Bros and Hos's has gotten so bad.. that neither is actually worthy of its own paragraph. The one redeeming light on Wisteria Lane was at the very end of the episode when Gabby finally came to her senses and wanted Juanita to perform her tap routine.. (Juanita was awful and her mother hid her tap shoes, preventing her from going on stage in the schools talent show.) It was sweet and made me tear up.. ( no worries im still a cold bitch.. the ice just melted a little bit) As for Brothers and Sisters. ... It's not even worth uploading the picture.. end of story..

What the what is wrong with my fucking roommates..? They went on tour for 2 weeks and didn't even tell me they were going away.. leaving their dog "precious" to fend for herself. I was woken up this morning by Precious' crying in the living room because she hadn't been walked for a whole day because I didn't know I had to. This is the most fucked up behavior i've ever seen.  They've done some odd things since i've moved in.. but this takes the cake. I really hope they don't decide to have actual children and behave as childishly as they have since i've known them..
